DANI CEBALLOS has reportedly met with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez where he allegedly stated he would be willing to sign for the Gunners on a permanent deal.
The 23-year-old is currently on a season-long loan at the Emirates where he has featured in 11 games in all competitions, chipping in with one goal and two assists.
Unai Emery’s side don’t have an option to buy Ceballos, but it is believed that the North London giants will look to secure the services of the Spanish midfielder in 2020.
The former Real Betis ace recently dealt Arsenal a blow after he insisted he still dreams of succeeding at the Bernabeu, but it appears a move could still be on the cards.
According to El Desmarque, the player met with Perez this week to discuss his future at Real.
They state that it is unlikely that Ceballos will return to Madrid after he informed the club he would be willing to join Arsenal permanently should Emery decide to pursue him.
If that happens, he is alleged to have asked Real to find an arrangement with the Gunners, with it reported that an offer of £31million would be enough to convince Los Blancos to sell.
The Spanish news outlet also adds that Ceballos has asked Perez to meet with Arsenal in January to try and sort out a deal.
Ceballos hinted last week that he is happy in London, as he revealed he is “where he wants to be”.
He said: “Going to Arsenal has been a very important step in my career. I don’t feel sorry for not being in Madrid. Right now I am where I want to be and I am very happy.
“My idea was to go out, play and enjoy football. In the previous two years I had not done so. My goal is only to work to keep doing things right.
“I have eight months left at Arsenal, I can only thank them for the confidence that the coach and fans have placed in me, who have already made me a song.
“I am very happy there and I hope to continue for a long time.”
