REAL MADRID have reportedly offered Arsenal to chance to sign Mariano Diaz for a cut-price transfer fee.
The 25-year-old still has four years left on his deal at the Bernabeu.
Real need to sell after a heavy transfer outlay this summer and have deemed the striker surplus to requirements.
Dominican Republic international Diaz scored three times in 13 La Liga matches last season.
However, he is one of several players told they can leave by the Galacticos to help balance the books.
But it remains to be seen whether Gunners boss Unai Emery, who only has a limited £45m to spend on new players, is interested in a deal.
It is claimed the Diaz option came up after Arsenal had enquired about his Madrid team-mate Lucas Vazquez.
Although today’s report states the opportunity to sign the ex-Tottenham target was not dismissed out of hand by Emery although he is focusing on other options.
The North London side are closing in on a £25m deal to sign St Etienne defender William Saliba, who will be loaned back to the French side for 12 months.
Arsenal are also in the market for another centre-half, a full-back and a winger.
Emery is also chasing Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney and has had two offers turned down by the Scottish champions.
