MANCHESTER UNITED’S training centre in Shanghai was dogged by torrential rain — but they managed to train in the end.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side rolled into the Yuanshen Sports Centre in Shanghai, only to be greeted with flooded roads nearby.
Temperatures have been as high as 37 degrees in the Chinese city, but United were fortunate that the torrential rain pools around the area drained away and have left the ground dry to train on.
Journalist Paul Hirst tweeted a video of cars having to negotiate their way through a foot of water outside the stadium.
Solskjaer said: “We’ve got video from the staff that were here earlier. It was flooded but now it’s fine.
“I’m sure it will be fine. Everything has been spot on so far for us.”
The Red Devils did eventually get out on to the training pitch and got down to some ball work with the likes of Anthony Martial, Fred and Luke Shaw getting stuck in.
United face Tottenham on Thursday before heading back to the UK for an International Champions Cup match against AC Milan in Cardiff on August 3.
Romelu Lukaku was one of the players who has travelled with the squad half way across the world, but has yet to get close to full fitness after picking up a knock in training and will miss the Spurs game.
The £75million forward is a top target for Inter Milan with United willing to sell for the right price, but the Serie A side have come nowhere near their valuation.
