The man was walking on the side of the road when he was hit, said Constable Stéphane Tremblay of the Sûreté du Québec. Emergency workers were called to the scene around 6 p.m.
The victim was taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries. The driver, a man in his twenties, was treated in hospital for nervous shock.
