WANTAWAY striker Romelu Lukaku fired back at his critics as he leaked Manchester United’s fastest players.
The Belgium, who has endured his fair share of criticism from fans, posted the times of each player’s max speed during training.
Lukaku was quick to highlight that he hit figures of 36.25 km/h – the second fastest player in the squad behind Diogo Dalot who reached 36.43.
Showing the results on Twitter he demanded supporters quash talk of his “lack of pace”.
After posting the message on social media, he quickly deleted his Tweet to prevent any further debate.
Instead he exposed Luke Shaw who worryingly finished bottom of the pile with a speed of 31.03.
The England defender did try to explain himself when he was called out by Juan Mata.
The Spaniard, who was second slowest, wrote on Twitter: “Thanks for finally showing the world that I’m quicker than @LukeShaw23 bro.”
And Shaw, who battled with his weight 12 months ago, responded: “They only wanted me to go 70% don’t let me start speaking on you boy.”
Rapid new signing Daniel James, believed to be one of the Prem’s fastest players, was fifth behind Tahith Chong and Marcus Rashford.
Fans on Twitter weighed into the speed debate with suggesting they should post stats based on his first touch.
One said: “Send first touch statistics next.”
